Working within our philosophy of “fresh, local and seasonal”, ongoing initiatives are converting Strathmere’s farm and gardens to organic ones. Talented young chefs and gardeners work hand in hand to grow and develop produce that makes its way onto the plate for guests to enjoy. Here are just a few examples:
- Edible flowers garnish our dessert plates
- Fresh herbs are picked daily and infused into sauces and marinades.
- Fresh organic baby greens enrich our salads.
- Home grown cut flowers are placed in country crocks
- The fall harvest offers yet more delicious produce leading to the preparation of country preserves which provide us with yet more delicious produce for guests to consume.
- Strathmere honey bees are busy making our Wildflower Honey while the Orchard has us looking forward to fruit trees in bloom and the promise of sweet jams, jellies, and country pies and cakes.
Strathmere’s commitment to offering its guests the freshest variety and quality of food is what motivates our chefs to serve only the best of the season. With that in mind, we plan menus week-by-week, taking great care to create menus featuring a variety of foods and seasonal taste sensations.
